Currently doing post-grad research (grad dip) at the University of Western Australia's Ecosystems Research Group at the School of Plant Biology; 'the ecophysiology of an Australian native bamboo; Bambusa arnhemica'. Recently conducted field work on B. arnhemica in the NT as well as touring the NT government's 'Coastal Plains Horticulture Research Farm' bamboo arboretum and research trials, and the emerging private bamboo industry (PAL enterprises, Berrimah). local and international experience working in organic-sustainable agriculture projects.
Member of the American Bamboo Society, Bamboo Society of Aust. and the WA Organic Growers association. Undergraduate degree in Science from Curtin University's 'Muresk Institute of Agriculture', specialising in freshwater integrated aquaculture systems. Work experience at one of the largest wholesale temperate bamboo nurseries in the USA ('Our Bamboo Nursery' in Tennessee), have visited key bamboo sites/projects Throughout Europe and the America's including 'Le Bambuserie' in France, Kew Botanical Gardens and The Eden Project in the UK, Guadua plantations in Costa Rica. |
